When Sony Music made an exclusivity deal with Focus Entertainment, the deal was to bring all of their games released in physical form to Brazil. Although agribusiness is very big in Brazil, the Farming Simulator series was not as well known, and I had to develop a different strategy to get the game to the right audience, even to an audience that had no idea the game existed and could buy it. I did an agreement with AGCO Corporation, owner of the Challenger, Fendt, Valtra, Massey Ferguson tractor brands, among others. Massey Ferguson is one of the leading companies in the industry in Brazil, and we chose one of their tractors to be featured on the cover of the game. In addition to the game mailing list, we used the agribusiness mailing list in Brazil, reaching special publications in the area both printed and online, television programs, and having the game participate in company events for a year, including two of the largest agribusiness fairs in the world, Agrishow 2017 and Expointer. Our direct audience reach was greater than in major European markets where Farming Simulator is popular, such as Germany and France.
